Watching Heated Rivalry isn't enough, now you need to buy the fleece (for charity)

Both the NHL and NHLPA will match the money raised from buying the viral Heated Rivalry Canada fleece up to $50000 CAD

The success of Heated Rivalry is partly due to the constant appetite among readers for good romance and “some horny people at HBO” who let the show be made at a breathtaking pace. As is often the case after something becomes a global phenomenon, companies are slowly filling the hole left by the end of season one with Heated Rivalry merchandise. If you spotted the fleece worn by Shane actor Hudson Williams in Heated Rivalry and thought it looked remarkably comfy, soon you’ll be able to purchase your own… while also supporting a good cause.

The moment we saw Shane in this Canada fleece in Heated Rivalry Season 1, it became an online sensation. It looked like a warm hug on a cold day, and we loved it. Online apparel company Province of Canada has teamed up with the producers of Heated Rivalry to recreate this cozy piece of pop culture for fans, with pre-orders set to start on June 3, 2026. And the best bit is that when you purchase it, you’ll be helping raise money for charity.

Province of Canada will donate 10% of the net profits from the Heated Rivalry Canada fleece to the You Can Play charity, which aims to encourage LGBTQ+ people to take part in sport. The NHL and the NHL Players’ Association will also match contributions at $25k CAD each, for $50k CAD total. The initial announcement did not include a price for the fleece; that will be confirmed when pre-orders open.

The Heated Rivalry Canada fleece we’ve all been pining over is nearly here. You can pre-order it on June 3, 2026 and help raise money for charity at the same time.
