What tattoo would Critical Role's Fjord Stone get? Travis Willingham knows

If you know anything about pirate orc Fjord, a key member of Prime Video's Mighty Nein, you may already know which direction Willingham is leaning

At this point, the Critical Role media empire is responsible for what we assume to be thousands of tattoos. We'd also assume that, for the most part, those tattoos are of the much-beloved characters the TTRPG actual-play series has introduced. But let me ask you this - if those characters themselves were to get tattoos, what would they be like?

Well, thanks to The Mighty Nein's own Fjord Stone, AKA Travis Willingham, we now have at least one answer.

The subject came up during a sit-down with ScreenRant Studio, attended by OG Rolers Willingham, Taliesin Jaffe, Marisha Ray, Liam O'Brien, Sam Riegel, Ashley Johnson, and Matt Mercer. The on-camera chat was molded around character-specific questions for each of the voice actors, and when it came time for Willingham to answer, it all came down to his potential ink.

"Clearly," said The Legend of Vox Machina actor, "There's going to be a Captain Tusktooth tattoo."

If you're a longtime Critter reading this article, chances are you could've guessed that one. The Tusktooth mark is a symbol long associated with the pirate that bears its name (an alias for Fjord), having been developed by his romantic partner, Jester Lavorre.

"The variation lies in both the size of the eyeballs but also the multidirectional nature of the irises," continued Willingham, in-character as the fan-favorite half-orc, "Along with how many tusks you tend to put in the mouth, and also the delineation of the tongue as it ejects from the lower region of the mouth. Is it up? Is it down? Is it off to the side like a crazy bastard? It's up to you to decide. And that's how you can delineate one person from another."

Wow, OK - so maybe the answer isn't as obvious as we thought. Clearly, Willingham has put some thought into this.

"Also," concluded WIllingham, pointing at his upper lip, "The fancy son of a bitch is going to have a little beauty mark right there."

You heard him, tattoo artists/Critical Role fans - your have your next design assignment.

With two animated series on Prime Video, Campaign 4 in full swing, and so much more Exandrian lore to come, Critical Role is showing no signs of slowing down. That's why the adventuring party at Popverse are here to bring you everything we can from those nerdy-ass voice actors & Bo., including:

...and much, much more. Roll initiative, player. Magic awaits.
