Critical Role's Laura Bailey answers: Who is the best fake vomiter in Hollywood?
I guess when you're in a voice booth with someone enough, you really get a taste for what their particular talents are. And yeah, I regret using the word 'taste'

Popverse's top stories

As a wildly accomplished voice actor, Critical Role's Laura Bailey has had to do a lot of weird stuff in a booth. And while she puts her all into things like spellcasting, fight scenes, and more, The Legend of Vox Machina star admits that there's at least one person better than her at one common element of a voice actor's regular responsibilities: faking vomit.
Bailey brought it up during a live taping of Collider Ladies Night, where host Perri Nemiroff asked Bailey and costars Marisha Ray and Ashley Johnson a question that probably every actor who's ever done physical comedy has had to engage with on some level - would you rather fake vomit or fake sneeze? Vomit was the answer for most of the folks on the stage, and Bailey used the consensus to bring up a real pro.
"Roger Craig Smith," she said. "Best fake vomiter I've ever met in my life."
In case you don't know, Popverse reader, Roger Craig Smith is the voice actor behind Batman in Arkham Origins, Ezio Auditore in the Assassin's Creed franchise, and most notably, Sonic the Hedgehog - whose titular character Smith has played for longer than any other voice actor in video game history.
"Roger Craig Smith," continued The Mighty Nein voice actor, "Will make everybody in the room barf if he fakes it. It's just so real."
Ray instantly agreed.
"I feel like I learned from Roger," she said "You do your fake vomit, but then you have to finish with like a [makes spitting noise] spitting. So disgusting."
Well there you have it, aspiring voice actors - if you ever need tips on throwing up behind a mic, you now know who to call.
