Good news for fans of the anime series BLEACH have been eagerly anticipating the final chapter of the Thousand-Year Blood War — it’s coming sooner than they might have thought, and bigger, as well: VIZ Media and Fathom Entertainment have reached a deal to bring the first chapters to movie theaters this summer.
Specifically, BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War will share the first three chapters of BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War - The Calamity as part of a limited theatrical run from June 25 through June 29, as part of the new deal, with the run being the official U.S. premiere of the episodes ahead of their streaming release. Episodes will be available in subtitled and dubbed versions, and the theatrical release will also include what VIZ Media describes as “an exclusive behind‑the‑scenes conversation with creator Tite Kubo and chief series director Tomohisa Taguchi and series director Hikaru Murata about the production.”
“Anime fans are in for a thrilling experience as BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War wraps up its groundbreaking run on the big screen,” said Ray Nutt, Chief Executive Officer at Fathom Entertainment. “Fathom has pioneered the theatrical experience for compelling, non-traditional content with built-in fanbases, and BLEACH fans are in for a treat with the first three episodes and exclusive, behind the scenes content from our friends at VIZ Media beginning June 25.”
Tickets for the run will be available May 29.
