Chad Powers star Glen Powell reveals what you should never do during a celebrity encounter
Chad Powers star Glen Powell once had a fan ask him to sign one of Powell’s private family photos

Meeting a celebrity can be an overwhelming experience, and it’s important to keep a few things in mind. First, respect their time if they’re busy. Second, try to relax and remember they are people too. Third, don’t be a creep. If you aren’t sure what that means, it’s doing something weird like asking them to sign one of their private family photos.
Yes, this is actually something people do. Just ask Chad Powers star Glen Powell, who calls it the most uncomfortable fan interaction he’s ever had.
“I did have somebody ask me to sign a photo that was a family photo that there was no way they would have access to. And asked me to sign it! So, I’m sitting there like, 'Where did you get this?'” Glen Powell revealed during a recent THR Comedy Actor Roundtable.
Powell added that the experience was even more jarring because the fan had blindsided him after a night of filming. “It was a surprise, like, after a night shoot, in the morning, sort of situation. It was not a time when you’re expected to sign a thing. It felt threatening,” the actor said.
It goes without saying, but don’t do this. Ask for a selfie and stay off Ancestry.com. Nobody wants to be a celebrity’s weird story.
Chad Powers is streaming on Hulu. Perhaps keep your fandom limited to watching the show and away from family stalking.
