Anya Taylor-Joy admits her Twilight fandom is “slightly problematic” - and she doesn’t like the movies

Look, we all have a guilty pleasure when it comes to media. I have lingering psycho-emotional damage from all the seasons of America's Next Top Model that I watched while my brain was still developing. And for some folks, the Twilight books and films are their guilty pleasure.
In an interview with Complex, Anya Taylor-Joy shed light on how Twilight captured her imagination as a child. "Revisiting the book as an adult is slightly problematic. The context of, like, ‘this fragile girl and this man that wants to kill her and that’s so hot.’ Like, there’s issues, definitely. But as a child, I just think vampires are really cool," the actress said.
After recalling how Jacob falls in love with Bella's infant daughter, Renesmee, Taylor-Joy said, "These books are insane." And she's right, because what the hell was going on with that storyline in Breaking Dawn?!
To clarify, Taylor-Joy also bravely acknowledged that she "never thought [the Twilight series] was good." "As a kid, I remember seeing the movie, and not getting the movie. And then, with a lot of time, those movies are perfect," she said.
For what it's worth, I'll always stand by Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight film because she captured the awkwardness of having a crush as a teenager, and the soundtrack was bangin'. The succeeding films in the series that weren't directed by her don't enamor me, but at least Rami Malek is in the last film?
