DC moves its new comic book day back to Wednesdays
Now all major publishers will be releasing new materials on the same day for the first time since 2020

Just announced at ComicsPro, DC has made many comic book retailers very happy by announcing that on-sale dates for its new material will return to Wednesdays later this year. The news was announced by DC’s sales manager for the direct market, Dustin Kitchens, and accompanied by an updated logo for the publisher’s 2009 weekly miniseries, Wednesday Comics — but could you blame them, really?
The company changed to Tuesday on-sale days in May 2020, in part due to its shift away from Diamond Comic Distributors as its distribution partner in favor of Lunar Distribution; the move was seen as controversial by a number of retailers, with the remainder of comic publishers continuing to release Wednesdays.
The return to Wednesday releases will take place in July, according to the publisher.
