Killing monsters is big business. And if you know big business, it's full of an entirely different kind of monsters — sharks — and they are now circling the shadowy organization at the center of James Tynion IV and Werther Dell'Edera's Something is Killing the Children franchise.

As a movie & TV series based on the creator-owned series goes into development with Blumhouse, the creators of the BOOM! Studios hit is bringing a Succession-style drama to the fore in its own summer event series, Fall of the House of Slaughter. Taking no small cue from Edgar Allan Poe's Fall of the House of Usher, this new four-issue series is promised to "usher in a new era.... as the House of Slaughter is plunged into turmoil..."
"As the House of Slaughter’s Old Dragon enters his final days, Cecilia Slaughter and the other Heads gather to determine his successor," reads BOOM! Studios' description of the miniseries. "Deadly ambitions begin to take shape as the House and Order prepare for a new legacy to begin—and the conflict to determine that new legacy will be lethal. Can the House of Slaughter survive a new Dragon coming into power? Find out in this all-new mini-series!"
Tynion and Dell'Edera seem more confident in succession, as they've tapped the writer of the House of Slaughter spinoff, Tate Brombal, alongside artist Adriano Turtulici (You'll Do Bad Things), whom you can get a sample of with their variant cover to issue #1, along with other covers by Dell'Edera, Sam Wolfe Connelly, and Elsa Charretier.
