The mayor of DC's Gotham is having her worst day ever, so she's making Batman and the whole city pay for it in Bad Seeds crossover event

There's the saying, the bigger they are, the harder they fall. And for Pamela Isley, the mayor of Gotham City, she is taking down everyone with her.

This will take place in an upcoming DC Comics crossover event called 'Bad Seeds,' beginning in August. Batman: Bad Seeds will feature Poison Ivy throwing in the towel on her mayoral duties in Gotham and using her plant powers to transform the city into "a hostile landscape of prehistoric plant life." And just so we're clear here, we're not talking nice, friendly plants. Buildings will be "swallowed by vines, streets overtaken by carnivorous flora, and entire neighborhoods reverting to a primordial state," which feels straight out of Jumanji.

The event's core narrative will be told by writers Matt Fraction and G. Willow Wilson in the pages of Batman and Poison Ivy comic titles, respectively, and the event will unfold over the course of one night. But according to a press release from DC, the "writers and artists behind Detective Comics, Batgirl, Batwoman, Catwoman, Nightwing, and Harley Quinn each deliver pivotal chapters that track Gotham’s transformation as the night deepens."

To make matters worse, the chaos has left the Bat-Family on the run, and "the GCPD fractured under Commissioner Vandal Savage's militarized rule." And this all sounds like a recipe for plant-driven pandemonium.

Batman: Bad Seeds will kick off on August 26 with a prelude story in Poison Ivy #47 by G. Willow Wilson with art by Leandro Fernandez and cover by Jessica Fong, with variant covers by Noobovich, Kyuyong Eom, and Manny Vincent Carbonilla. But don't let that be the only issue you pick up at your LCS that day. Also on August 26th, DC will release Batman: Bad Seeds – Sunset #1, which is written by Matt Fraction and G. Willow Wilson with art and cover by Giuseppe Camuncoli, Cliff Rathburn, and Tomeu Morey, and variant covers by Dan Mora, Marcio Takara, Jorge Jiménez, and Jeff Spokes (Glow-in-the-Dark). Take a gander at the covers for Poison Ivy #47 and Batman: Bad Seeds - Sunset #1 below.

Bad Seeds will continue through September and October across Bat-Family titles.

Batman is the most well-known superhero in the world — surprisingly, given how much he loves hanging out in the dark. But between his comics, TV shows, movies, games, and more, DC's Dark Knight is the hero this city/country/world/universe needs, and we have all you need to enjoy him even more:
