Mike Mignola's Lady Baltimore returns this December, and one of her oldest allies is now the enemy

Mike Mignola's next horror comic promises to get ‘ooey, gooey, fun, and freaky.'

This December, Mike Mignola, Christopher Golden, and Bridgit Connell are headed back to the Outerverse for a three-issue mini-series called Lady Baltimore: The Constant Death of Dr. Rose. The mini-series will be co-written by Mignola and Golden, with art by Connell, colors by Michele Madsen, letters by Clem Robins, and cover art by Abigail Larson.

Following up on last year's Lady Baltimore: The Daughters of Medusa mini-series, The Constant Death of Dr. Rose will be Lady Baltimore's "most dangerous mission" yet, according to a press release, because she'll have to face her ally, Dr. Rose. The story's premise is as such: "Lady Baltimore travels to a remote town, rumored to have been ravaged by a terrifying monster. But when she arrives, the ghost of Lord Baltimore warns her that an even more devastating evil has been unleashed. Their old ally, Dr. Rose has been possessed by the living embodiment of the plague. "

Artist Bridgit Connell expressed her enthusiasm for getting to return to Dr. Rose once more: "In Baltimore, the character arc of Dr. Rose was a fascinating one... from wartime doctor meeting friends in a tavern to book obsessed monster in hiding. Being able to illustrate further exploration into his storyline, with Sofia and her kickbutt crew as our guides, was a real treat. It gets pretty ooey, gooey, fun, and freaky!"

Lady Baltimore, also known as Sofia Valk, was introduced to readers in 2021 after the death of her husband, Lord Baltimore. She's taken up the task of fighting occultists and the creatures who go bump in the night, and is part of the interconnected Outerverse world at Dark Horse created by Mignola and Golden.

Lady Baltimore: The Constant Death of Dr. Rose #1 will go on sale at comic shops on December 16, 2026.
