Talk about a bread winner.

Editions Kana, a French comic book publisher, ended the year with a marketing stunt that's as brilliant as it is, well, French. In order to promote their alien x mechs story Goldorak, Kana has printed 325K branded sachets (that is, the little paper bags that baguettes come in) and distributed them to pain-purveyors all across the country. 

The story comes from a social media post made by Editions Kana themselves, which attached a picture of the branded sachets alongside the announcement. In case you're wondering, Goldorak is a comic book that continues the story of anime UFO Robot Grendizer, the very first anime to be shown on French television.

Based on a manga itself, it only makes sense that UFO Robot Grendizer would be back in a form that is both A.) comics and B.) popularized by something that the French population spends a great deal of time looking at.

Naturally, the Popverse team is wondering how folks like Marvel and DC could dip their own toes into the bread-as-comics-marketing game. Hot Dog buns with Bat-logos sizzled into the dough? Spidey comics lining burger baskets? Hell, the Wonder Woman/Wonder Bread collab feels just too good to ignore.
