Ted Lasso Season 3 recap: What you need to know before Season 4 arrives on Apple TV
The fourth season of the fan-favorite series brings Jason Sudeikis back to the UK with a new team and a new mission
Apple TV's hit series Ted Lasso follows the titular soccer coach (Jason Sudeikis) as he leads A.F.C. Richmond despite his inexperience with the beautiful game. Boasting an optimistic tone and a charming sense of humor, fans of the series were delighted to learn that Ted Lasso Season 4 will debut on August 5th, 2026, more than three years after the show's previous season.
What is Ted Lasso?
Ted Lasso is the story of the eponymous American coach, who is hired by Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham), the new owner of A.F.C. Richmond, with the expectation that he will fail to lead the team to victory due to his inexperience. Welton hopes to see the team crash and burn so as to exact her revenge against her ex-husband Rupert Mannion (Anthony Head), who valued the team's success above all else in life.
How did Ted Lasso Season 3 end?
At the conclusion of the third season, some big changes were in store for Ted Lasso (the character, as well as the series). Welton sells forty-nine percent of the team to the fans. Lasso returns to the United States and is seen coaching his son's soccer team. Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) becomes the new Richmond head coach. And Coach Willis Beard (Brendan Hunt) remains in London so as to marry his girlfriend. The end of the third season was originally intended as a series finale, before plans were made to revive the series three years later.
Does Ted Lasso Season 4 have a trailer?
As of writing, the fourth season of Ted Lasso doesn't have a full trailer - but it does have this teaser, which purposefully remains vague about the set-up of the new season right up until the final scene, which also happens to feature the only dialogue in the whole thing. Sometimes, it's enough just to remind fans that their favorite characters are coming back.
Season 4 of Ted Lasso will debut on August 5th, 2026 on Apple TV.
