Grimsburg Season 3: Release date, timeslot and more

The animated series stars Jon Hamm as detective Marvin Flute

Grimsburg is an animated sitcom that follows the titular town's greatest detective, Marvin Flute (Jon Hamm)... But can he solve the curious case of his own family? The Season 2 finale, "Across the Flutiverse," debuted almost a year ago, on July 17, 2025. But happily for fans of the series, the show has been renewed by Fox for Season 3! You can expect new episodes of Grimsburg to arrive in the fall of 2026.

Marvin is the ex-husband of anchor woman Harmony Flute (Erinn Hayes) and the estranged father of Stan Flute (Rachel Dratch), who is desperate to see his parents reunited. Marvin works alongside Lt. John Kang (Greg Chun), who serves as a mentor figure, and Det. Greg Summers (Kevin Michael Richardson), a cyborg officer (who was a carousel operator before his procedure). Rounding out the cast is the inimitable but very prolific Alan Tudyk as Marvin's nemesis (and former music teacher) Dr. Rufis Pentos and Stan's imaginary friend, Mr. Flesh.

While Grimsburg is a detective comedy, it veers quite heavily into the realm of sci-fi. The Season 2 finale, "Across the Flutiverse," showed glimpses of other timelines, and the characters have even found themselves trapped in a TV sitcom version of their lives. Here's a clip from the series:

Grimsburg Season 3 in fall 2026, alongside the rest of the Animation Domination lineup, with the show slotted in to air at 9:30pm Eastern and Pacific, and 8:30pm Central. Although Fox has yet to announce an official release date for Grimsburg Season 3, historical evidence suggests fans can expect the show to return in mid-late September.
