Ghosts Season 6 is coming to CBS, but later than fans might expect: Release date, specials, cast and more
The sitcom features an ensemble cast of spirits.
The finale of Ghosts Season 5 airs May 21st, 2026, leaving audiences bereft of the inhabitants (alive and dead) of Woodstone Mansion. Good news, though: we're happy to assure you that Ghosts will be returning! Ghosts Season 6 has already been confirmed by CBS, and is expected to arrive in early 2027 as a midseason debut... and there will be even more Ghosts ahead of that, too.
Ghosts is an American sitcom adapted from the British series of the same name. It follows Samantha "Sam" Arondekar (Rose McIver) and her husband Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), who move into the Woodstone Estate in upstate New York, only to discover it is populated by a ensemble cast of ghosts. These include Thorfinn (Devan Chandler Long), a Viking from Norway; Sasappis (Román Zaragoza), a Lenape hunter; Captain Isaac Higgintoot (Brandon Scott Jones), a closeted gay Continental Army office; Henrietta "Hetty" Woodstone (Rebecca Wisocky), the original owner of the mansion; Alberta Haynes (Danielle Pinnock), a Prohibition-era lounge singer; Susan "Flower" Montero (Sheila Carrasco), a hippie; Peter "Pete" Martino (Richie Moriarty), a Pinecone Troopers troop leader; and Trevor Lefkowitz (Asher Grodman), a womanizing stock broker. The entire cast is expected to return for the sixth season of the show.
CBS announced in April 2026 that it would be holding Ghosts Season 6 back until a midseason launch, explaining that it had made the decision to allow a better launch for new comedy series Eternally Yours in fall 2026. However, that doesn't mean that fans won't get a chance for new Ghosts before the new year; CBS also announced that two special episodes of the show would be airing in late 2026, timed to Halloween and the holidays specifically, and that those episodes will be in addition to the 22-episode Ghosts Season 6.
Ghosts' special episodes will air late-October and mid-December 2026. Ghosts Season 6 will begin in early 2027.
