Blade Runner 2099 release date: When the Michelle Yeoh-led sequel miniseries debuts on Prime Video

The follow-up to sci-fi classics Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 will launch in November, co-starring Yeoh and Hunter Schafer

The next chapter in the Blade Runner saga debuts on Prime Video this fall. Starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, Blade Runner 2099 is (appropriately) set five decades after the 2017 movie Blade Runner 2049. So when can you expected the release for Blade Runner 2099 to arrive?

Blade Runner 2099 is set, as the title suggests, fifty years after the events of Blade Runner 2049. (For those wondering, the original Blade Runner was set in 2019, which sure seemed futuristic when the movie was released back in 1982.) The story is set in a post-Replicant uprising world, where humans have become second-class citizens and Replicants now possess the power. Olwen (Yeoh) is a Replicant nearing the end of her life who is working alongside her partner Cora (Schafer), a human pretending to be a Replicant, as they hunt down a gang of rogue Replicants.

The show also stars Dimitri Abold and Lewis Gribben, with recurring roles for Katelyn Rose Downey, Daniel Rigby, Johnny Harris, Amy Lennox, Sheila Atim, Matthew Needham, Tom Burke, Maurizio Lombardi and Hugo Hamlet.

The Blade Runner 2099 release date is November 25th, 2026 on Prime Video. All eight episodes of the limited series will be available to stream on that date. It has been almost a decade since Blade Runner 2049 debuted in theaters in October 2017. And of course, there are a plethora of small-screen release dates you'll want to keep in mind alongside this one as 2027 swiftly approaches.
