Absolute Batman is going to reboot B- and D-list super villains like Condiment King in 2027
The much beloved (and beautifully LEGO'd) batman villain Condiment King really is on his way to the Absolute Universe, confirms wrier Snyder, and he's bringing friends

Absolute Batman is maybe the most financially successful revamp of a popular comics character of this decade, and if you ask me, a large part of that has to come down to the villains. From writer Scott Snyder's unique take on their conjoined origins in the Ark M project and regular artist Nick Dragotta's horrifying redesigns of characters like the Joker, the Absolute Rogues are just as great for sales as they are bad for Bruce Wayne. And according to Snyder, way more familiar Gotham Goons are on their way...
This time, from the JV squad.
The story comes from Instagram user deanpullscomics, who recently approached Snyder at a signing. Referencing a gag in DC's recent spoof comic Mad About DC #1, the fan asked the American Vampire writer whether Absolute Condiment King was canon in the Absolute universe.
"Yes," Snyder laughed, "Let's say that he is."
"We're gonna do a bunch of B-list villains," Snyder continued, "Probably in about six months you see a bunch of other characters coming in. You know, the kind of D-list villains. No offense to Condiment King. But then we're going to kind of make them scary. That's part of the fun of next year."
Well there you go, cosplayers. Start stocking up on spikes and relish. Oh wait, sorry - pickle spears.
The next issue of DC's biggest revamp, Absolute Batman #20, swoops into comic book stores May 13.
