The Boys boss is looking to rescue parts of Prime Video’s cancelled spin-off

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke is as bummed as anyone else that Gen V was cancelled, but he wants to show more of Marie Moreau's story in the future

The finale of The Boys has come and gone, but there are still plenty of stories in that world that haven’t been told. Specifically, the entire storyline of Gen V, with Marie Moreau being one of the most powerful superheroes in the world. However, because we never got that third season of Gen V, we never got to see just how powerful Marie really was. The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke still hopes that they can salvage Marie Moreau’s storyline for future stories in The Boys universe.

During an interview ahead of the finale of The Boys, Eric Kripke explained that he wasn’t happy when Gen V got cancelled. “I did not cancel the show. One, I don’t have the power to do that,” he explained. “Two, I was fighting to keep the show, almost more than anybody else on Earth. So I’m as bummed as everybody else out there.”

In fact, Kripke isn’t giving up hope to give Gen V fans the closure they deserve. “We’re still hopeful we can find a way to do [Marie Moreau’s story]. So, unfortunately, I can’t share it… This idea that Marie is powerful, but that’s not the end of her story. She has to learn to control it.”

He wouldn’t give details, but Kripke added, “It’s very early days, because we’re focusing on getting Vought Rising out into the world, but Amazon has expressed an interest and they want to hear more potential stories in the world. So we’re internally brainstorming a couple different ideas. We’ll see which ones get traction, but they all have the opportunity to absorb at least some of the Gen V gang, and that’s very much by design.”

They are brash, unforgiving, and a little rough around the edges... and they're the good guys! The heroes of Prime Video's The Boys, led by Karl Urban's Butcher, go up against the 'superheroes' that is the Seven, led by Anthony Starr's Homelander, leader of the Seven. With that show's five seasons plus spinoffs such as Gen V, Diabolical, and reportedly more, there's a lot to the Boys Franchise, and we're here to help... with:
