After a multi-year partnership, Power Rangers and Netflix are parting ways. At least, they're no longer teaming up for the upcoming Power Ranger series showrun by Jenny Klein.
Some context: In 2020, Netflix veteran Jonathan Entwistle was given the reigns to the Power Rangers franchise and, soon after, began developing a new series that was menat to stream on Netflix, tapping Supernatural story editor Klein for the position of showrunner. Thanks to TVLine, we now know that Netflix is no longer pursuing the series.
But don't think the morphin', mighty or otherwise, is through just yet. Also from the TVLine article comes confirmation that Habro Entertainment, who owns the Power Rangers IP, is pursuing a new home for their upcoming series. This should surprise exactly no one who understands the Power Rangers franchise and the scope of fans it covers, especially considering Entwistle's plans for what he calls a "cinematic universe" for the property.
And even though the streaming service is not moving forward with the new series, there will still be Power Rangers content streamable on Netflix. That includes, as of the time of this writing, the original 1993 Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, which you can watch right now.
