One season of RuPaul's Drag Race not enough for you? Not only is All-Stars season 9 in the middle of its season, but last week saw the premier of Drag Race Mexico season 2! With 15 franchises based all over the world there's always something for the fandom to celebrate, and on June 20 RuPaul's Drag Race Nexico season 2 premiered. To celebrate this beloved international season, a pink carpet premiere was held in Hollywood and Popverse was invited.
Drag Race Mexico is the third North American franchise following the progenetor, RuPaul's Drag Race, and Canada's Drag Race. It is hosted by former RuPaul's Drag Race and All-Star contestant, Valentina, and former Drag Race France contestant, Lolita Banana (both of whom you can watch on a previous episode of Enter the Popverse talking about the first season.)
Happily for us, Popverse's Ashley Victoria Robinson is a RuPaul's Drag Race superfan, well-versed in the international franchises! She was on hand to ask the incredible guests from trans icon Kerri Colby, to actor Brandon Lim, to season 12 finalist Crystal Methyd the most important questions including: which country needs a Drag Race franchise next?
Featured talent includes: April Carrión, Aura Mayari, La Prima, Brandon Lim, Crystal Methyd, Kerri Colby, Natasha Hundreds, Nomi B. Lo, Mirage, Scarlett BoBo, and Scarlet Envy.
