Uhura or Celia: We play Who Is More Likely To? with Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' Celia Rose Gooding

In this inaugural edition of Who Is More Likely To?, we asked Strange New Worlds star Celia Rose Gooding about the similarities and differences between herself and her character, Starfleet officer Nyota Uhura.

With Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 imminent (the show returns this summer), the joy that is Trek is on our minds - and we had the SNW cast with us all weekend recently at Seattle's Emerald City Comic Con 2025. In addition to hosting their panel (which you can watch free!), we invited some of the cast in our Pop Spot interview room... and for Celia Rose Gooding, we played a rousing game of Who Is More Likely To?, a new series we're doing with actors and creators where we try to see what's different (and what's eerily the same) between themselves and the characters they're best known for.

In this inaugural edition of Who Is More Likely To?, we asked Strange New Worlds star Celia Rose Gooding about the similarities and differences between herself and her character, Starfleet officer Nyota Uhura. In this conversation, we also get into her musical theater origins and try to suss out a little bit of what us Trekkies can look forward to in the new season.

Watch now, Who Is More Likely To? with Celia Rose Gooding:

Space may be the final frontier, but there's no end to Popverse's love of the Star Trek universe.
