Lazy hosts, cleaning fees, and now this??

The first trailer for The Strangers: Chapter 1 is here, and it's going to make you seriously reconsider booking your next vacation with Airbnb. Go ahead and watch the video, posted to Lionsgate's YouTube March 1, below.

In case you didn't clock it, that's Riverdale's own Madelaine Petsch starring as beleagured Maya opposite Froy Gutierrez as unequally unsatisfied guest Ryan, a couple on an anniversary trip that turns deadly. Here's the official Lionsgate synopsis:

"After their car breaks down in an eerie small town, a young couple (Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez) are forced to spend the night in a remote cabin. Panic ensues as they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive in THE STRANGERS ― CHAPTER 1, the chilling first entry of this upcoming horror feature film series."

You might as well slap a Holiday Inn at at the end of that.

Chapter 1 is the first of three Strangers films headed to theaters this year, and a prequel to both The Strangers (2008) and The Strangers: Prey at Night (2018). The franchise, famous for its motiveless killers, will take an unexpected turn in finally answering a question about its antagonists - that is, how they got their start.

Personally, my money's on the service charge. What even is that?

The Strangers: Chapter 1 forces its way into theaters May 17, 2024. you can Buy tickets on Fandango or Atom Tickets.
