Welcome to Future Fest at Popverse

Join us this week for Popverse Future Fest: It's time we begin writing the first draft of our pop culture future.

The future is largely unwritten, but it's never too early to start a first draft.

This week on Popverse, we are fast-forwarding days, weeks, months, and perhaps years into the future for Popverse Future Fest - a look ahead at what's to come in movies, TV, comics, games, and books. The Popverse team will be calling our shots on the big things coming in 2026, opening the door on trends materializing in the near future, as well as getting a head start on those year-end 'best of' lists.

We'll be mapping out the future for comics, manga, and webtoons - and diving specifically into the worlds of Spider-Man, the X-Men, and more at Marvel, as well as Batman, Wonder Woman, and more - be it DC Absolute, DC All In, or somewhere else. Graeme will be giving us a portent of what's to come in the MCU and James Gunn's DCU, and Grant will show us where the future of horror movies is coming from. For us booknerds, Jules is writing about how Appalachian horror is the next big trend. And Trent is writing about how the future is a big, scary place... and that's why it's so exciting.

We're also beginning to rack our brains about the best things we've seen and read this year. While we're not finished, this is a good start - and a great place for you to weigh in with a comment. In addition to all that, we are also looking ahead to 2026 to give you a first look at the big comics, the big TV shows, big movies, and more - be it a grand debut, a grand return, or a grand finale.
