If you've ever been (or perhaps even currently are) a twenty-something-year-old person burning out in the working world, Oni Press is about to publish a graphic novel for you. Lara Pickle's debut graphic novel I Feel Awful, Thanks follows a young witch named Joana as she works in a potions lab - what she thinks of as her "perfect job" - and navigates the stress of moving to a new city, finding an apartment, and living alone in a new place.
The graphic novel will delve into young Joana's journey to self-acceptance, and author Lara Pickle is hoping that I Feel Fine, Thanks will help others going through a similar situation. As Pickle said in a statement, “I created this comic in the hopes that if people identify with it, then it will serve as a gentle reminder that they're not alone."
If this all sounds great to you, you won't have to wait long to get your hands on this brand-new witchy book: I Feel Awful, Thanks will hit stores on March 5, 2024. But if even a month feels like too long of a wait (we understand!), don't worry - we've got an exclusive excerpt from the graphic novel for your to read right now in the gallery below.
