While A Quiet Place dropped us right into the middle of a world nearly broken by the fear of being heard. While the first two installments have both delivered on the unsettling tension that horror films thrive on, we’ve always wondered what those early days felt like... and this summer, A Quiet Place: Day One is going to show how humanity fell silent.
Usually, we err on the side of not explaining the backstory in your horror film. We tend to find that our imagination is far more frightening than anything that gets shown on screen. However, we’ve been excited for A Quiet Place: Day One since the first trailer dropped and showed an eerily quiet New York City. The idea of one of the loudest cities on the planet falling silent has us intrigued, so we’re definitely looking forward to seeing A Quiet Place: Day One in theaters on June 28, 2024.
A Quiet Place: Day One is the first entry in the franchise not to be directed by John Krasinski, with Michael Sarnoski stepping in to write the screenplay and direct the prequel. It takes place in the early days of the alien invasion but there will be at least one familiar face that pops up in the movie as Djimon Hounsou is set to reprise his role as Henri, the leader of an island of survivors.
Prequels are tricky things since we already know how it is going to end, but we’re still excited to see A Quiet Place: Day One when it comes to theatres on June 28, 2024.
