Here's what we know from Prime Video's Invincible San Diego Comic Con 2023 panel and beyond

Invincible craze is about to retake the country as an official release date was just announced for the second season. We're big fans of Mark Grayson & Co. here at Popverse, so we thought we'd throw together a little piece explaining Everything we know about Invincible Season 2.

Let's start with the big thing:

What is the Invincible season 2 release date?

Turns out, that's a two-part question, and we only have the answer for one. The first half of season two of the hit superhero drama streams on Amazon Prime November 3, 2023. The next half of the season drops sometime in early 2024, but we don't have a specific date yet.

BUT (and that's a big one), a new in-between-seasons episode dropped on July 21 as a holdover. The episode, which focuses on breakout character Atom Eve, is available to watch now.

How many episodes are in season 2 of Invincible?

Just like season one, there will be eight episodes of the second season of Invincible. However, it's unclear now whether that includes the already-released Atom Eve special.

Who is in the Invincible season 2 cast?

Much of the first season's cast will be returning, including:

  • Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson/Invincible
  • Sandra Oh as Debbie Grayson
  • Zazie Beetz as Amber Bennett
  • Walton Goggins as Cecil Stedman
  • Gillian Jacobs as Atom Eve/Eve Wilkins
  • Jason Mantzoukas as Rex Splode
  • Zachary Quinto as Robot
  • Seth Rogen as Allen the Alien
  • J.K. Simmons as Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man

Joining the cast this season are Tatiana Maslany as Queen Lizard, Scoot McNairy as King Lizard, Peter Cullen as Great Thaedus, and Sterling K. Brown as Angstrom Levy, plus Daveed Diggs, Ben Schwartz, Calista Flockhart, and Cliff Curtis in unspecified roles.

Where can I see the Invincible season 2 trailer?

The trailer for Invincible Season 2 debuted at Prime Video's Invincible panel at San Diego Comic Con 2023. But in case you weren't there, you can see it here now!

What is the plot of Invincible season 2?

While we don't have an official plot synopsis from Prime Video, the streamer pretty much confirmed what we'd be seeing via a series of snippets in the last episode of the first season.

Watchers will remember that included an alien body-snatcher invasion of Earth from Mars, a growing crime organization spearheaded by the violent Titan, and the devleoping relationship between Mark Grayson/Invincible and Allen the Alien, who has information that Mark will find valuable.

All of this, of course, piles on top of Mark's journey in realizing who he really is, who his father really is, and wrestling with what do do with that information.

Will there be an Invincible season 3?

Yes! Deadline confirmed that there will be an Invincible Season Three, in an article posted on April 29, 2021. As any reader of the Invincible comic by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley knows, there is a TON of material to pull from, guaranteeing exciting plot twists and new characters for a third season.

Probably even a fourth? It wouldn't surprise us, judging by how popular the series is. But as we all know, it's a weird time to be making TV right now. No show, even the most popular is... is...

Huh, I can't think of the word.
