The journey to bring an Echo TV show to Disney+ might have started as soon as the final episode of Hawkeye aired in 2021, but it has taken several strange twists and turns along the way. Originally, it was due to premiere in November 2023, but it was pushed back to January 2024 while Marvel had a rethink about its TV strategy. Then, its release date was changed yet again in December, though only by a single day.

When is the Echo release date?

Echo will finally be released on January 9, 2024, one day ahead of its previously announced release date. The series marks multiple firsts for the streamer. It is the first fully Marvel show made for Disney+ to get a TV-MA rating, promising more violence and language from the anti-hero’s solo outing. It is also the first time Marvel has opted to release the entire season in a single drop rather than a weekly schedule, something that may be part of the studio’s new strategy for shows going forward.

Where to watch Echo

Echo isn’t just for Disney+ subscribers to enjoy – fans who subscribe to Hulu will also get to watch the show on the day it is released, marking another change. Hulu has traditionally been home to more adult-oriented content than Disney+, which is probably why Marvel is experimenting with this release strategy with Echo.

Along with Alaqua Cox reprising her role as Maya Lopez/Echo, the first trailer also gave us plenty of Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin. It has also been announced that Charlie Cox will be back as Daredevil/Matt Murdock. Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, and Cody Lightning will fill out the cast when Echo is released on January 9, 2024.
