The wait for detective Axel Foley's return has been a long one, but Netflix's fourquel is finally around the corner. When can we expect Eddie Murphy's (hopefully) triumphant return to hit the streaming service?
It's been nearly 30 years since we last saw Foley in Beverly Hills Cop III, but he's finally on a new case, and old friends are coming alongside him. The fourquel is one of Netflix's biggest feature-length bets of the year and among the most-anticipated streaming releases in the near future. That said, its first trailer didn't reveal a specific release date. Do we have one yet?
Beverly Hills Cop 4 release date: When is Eddie Murphy's new action comedy coming to Netflix?
While its first-look trailer didn't include a release date, Netflix announced in early February 2024 that the fourquel will arrive on July 3, 2024. As far as we know, it will be a streaming-only release.
What will Beverly Hills Cop 4 be about?
Detective Axel Foley (Murphy) teams up with his daughter Jane (Taylour Paige) after her life is threatened. They're also joined by a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old pals Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and Taggart (John Ashton) to uncover the conspiracy.
Of course, Beverly Hills has changed nearly as much as Foley over 30 years, so he'll have to readjust to the streets and those who surround him in this new comedic adventure. We're sure that further plot details are being kept a secret for a reason; surely, there are twists ahead.
