Fans have been waiting 20years to see beloved Broadway musical Wicked up on the big screen. They won't have to wait too much longer - at least not for the first part. Wicked Part One is set to debut on November 27, 2024 (with the second following up in the same month of 2025).
Directed by Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights) and starring Cynthia Erivo (Bad Times at the El Royale, Harriet) and Ariana Grande, the movie (based on the musical, which is based on Gregory Maguire's novel Wicked, which is in turn a retelling of The Wizard of Oz) is set up to be one of the most memorable musical adaptations in a long time.
