Wonder Man season 1 release date: A star is born on Disney+

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays struggling actor Simon Williams in the Wonder Man show on Disney+

What kind of superhero movie do you make when the world is tired of superhero movies? That’s the question being asked by the Disney+ series Wonder Man’s Season 1. The upcoming addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a release date that will be here sooner than you expect. So when will Wonder Man Season 1 arrive for streaming?

The Wonder Man Season 1 release date is January 27, 2026 at 6:00 PM PT on Disney+. All eight episodes of the season will be available to stream on that date. Of course, there are many other upcoming shows — inside and outside of the superhero genre — for you to look forward to in addition to Wonder Man Season 1. Here’s the official trailer for the first season of Wonder Man:

Wonder Man stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Aquaman) as Simon Williams, an actor who aspires to step into the titular role of Wonder Man. He gets the opportunity when legendary director Von Kovak (Superman’s Zlatko Buric) returns from retirement to combat superhero fatigue by relaunching Wonder Man (whoa, meta). But compilcating Williams’ aspirations is the fact that the legendary actor Trevor Slatterly (Iron Man III & Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings alum Ben Kingsley) is also gunning for the part. While the trailer leans into the cinematic side of things rather than the superheroic one, the cast also includes Demetrius Grosse as Williams’ brother Eric, known to Marvel Comics readers as the supervillain Grim Reaper. So, it’s possible the series may have more superheroic elements than it currently appears to possess.

The release date for Wonder Man Season 1 on Disney+ is January 27, 2026 at 6:00 PM.
