Catherine Zeta-Jones could barely contain her inner fangirl when Lady Gaga showed up on the set of Wednesday season 2

Netflix brought one of the biggest stars of our time to the set of Wednesday, which had even Morticia Addams feeling overwhelmed.

After being established in Hollywood for more than 20 years, we imagine it must take a lot to make Catherine Zeta-Jones feel starstruck. However, Netflix managed just that when they brought Lady Gaga in for a guest appearance in Wednesday season two. For Zeta-Jones, it was a moment where she struggled to keep her cool on set.

For the record, keeping her cool is one of the most important parts of Catherine Zeta-Jones’ job. After all, she is an Academy and Tony Award-winning actress who is back as the eternally unflappable Morticia Addams in Wednesday season two, so being fashionably uninterested in what is going on around her should come naturally to her. However, during an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, she did admit to being barely able to keep it together when Lady Gaga arrived on set.

“I was like a 14-year-old,” Catherine Zeta-Jones said of her first encounter with the singer/actor. “I was like a sedated Beatles fan from 1961. All I wanted to do was scream and say ‘I love you!’ and I had to be really, like, ‘Very nice to meet you.’ And inside, everything was bursting.”

Part of that visceral reaction to meeting Lady Gaga on the set of Wednesday season two came from personal admiration, which Zeta-Jones struggled to put into words. “I think she’s the talent of our generation. It’s on a level that… And when you have that kind of genuine… And she’s diminutive! She’s, like, petite, petite, petite. How much talent is packed in, you hope she’s gonna be as wonderful as you want her to be in your mind’s eye, because you’re such a fan. And she is.”

You can see Catherine Zeta-Jones – not fangirling over Lady Gaga – in season two of Wednesday, now streaming on Netflix.
