Sometimes our past goes deeper than our own lives. For Shiki Ichinose, it goes back thousands of years after he discovers that he has the blood of demons flowing through him. When the Tougen Anki release date finally arrives and we get to see the anime adaptation of Yura Urushibara’s popular manga, we’ll find out just how far Shiki will go to find out exactly what secrets his blood contains.
Since the manga debuted in 2020, Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood has sold more than 3 million copies worldwide, so it isn’t surprising that an anime adaptation has been in the works. The Tougen Anki release date is July 11, 2025. We know that it will be airing on Japanese TV, but there hasn’t been confirmation of which streaming service will air it overseas. Most likely it will be Crunchyroll, but we’ll have to wait and see if they add it to their list of upcoming shows they’ll be localizing.
Toguen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood follows a centuries-old war between Oni and Momotaro forces. Shiki Ichinose finds out that he has Oni blood, which suddenly puts him in the crosshairs of that war. How he uses the powers that his Oni lineage gives him will help determine if he’ll be able to bring this deadly conflict to an end and, more importantly, if anyone will be alive to see that happen.
Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood will be released on July 11, 2025, with new episodes following weekly after that.
