What does The Boys cast do between takes? Watch Karl Urban and Tomer Capone get really into backgammon
The Butcher and Frenchie actors have differing views on who won their games of backgammon, but the rest of The Boys cast found the whole thing very amusing

Making a TV show like The Boys can be an intensive experience, but there is often a lot of hurrying up and then waiting around. The director has to get set up, and all the props and sets have to be put in place. That can mean hours of downtime for the cast while they wait for their time in front of the cameras. How did the cast of The Boys pass the time? By watching Karl Urban and Tomer Capone take each other on in the most intense games of backgammon.
During The Boys cast panel at MCM London, the actors were asked what hobbies they used to pass the time on set. Without hesitation – and, indeed, before the question was even finished being asked, Tomer Capone answered, “Killing Karl [Urban] in backgammon. Destroying him.” Capone, who plays Frenchie in The Boys, clearly believes he has the upper hand in the game over Karl Urban.
“Some versions of events may… differ in recollection, right?” Urban, who has played the intense and egotistical Billy Butcher on the Prime Video hit, countered.
Laz Alonso, the actor behind M.M. on the show, admitted his own hobby on set. “Watching these two go back and forth in backgammon was amazing for me. You already know who’s winning by who’s happy and who’s pissed. Or who’s quiet.”
Kimiko’s actor, Karen Fukuhara, chimed in here. “Whoever’s standing is usually winning.”
Unfortunately, we may never know who actually got the upper hand in those backgammon games on The Boys set, but at least we know how to pass the time if we’re ever on an airplane with Karl Urban or Tomer Capone.
