Stranger Things' season 5 finale meant the end of the Hawkins saga. And for Millie Bobby Brown, it meant a month of depression
For "the whole of January" this year, Eleven actor and Stranger Things star Brown went into a dark place

The ending of Stranger Things brought tears to the eyes of literally millions of people across the world. Most, though, were done crying after a day or two (OK, or a week, but who's counting). However, for series star Millie Bobby Brown, who started as show lead Eleven since the pilot episode debuted, the end of the show was much more difficult to get over. In fact, it threw her into a month-long depression.
Brown made her comments on a recent episode of Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, which was published on YouTube on June 30. Horowitz, a self-proclaimed huge fan of Netflix's science fiction blockbuster series, obviously wanted to talk about the events of the Upside Down, and when they touched on the finale, Brown got very vulnerable.
"I just bawled for a month," the Godzilla vs. Kong star explained, "So the whole of January, I cried, and I went into a bit of a slight — slight bit of depression. It was very hard for me. I would not have expected that, coming a mile off — I’m a very happy-go-lucky girl."
Brown described the finale as saying a "goodbye to a part of my childhood," and considering the fact that she began filming the series when she was just 12 years old, we'd say that's a pretty fair assessment. Besides the longevity of it all, her character's ambiguous end even meant that she didn't get a send off that some of her other co-stars' characters did.
...Depending on how you interpret that ending, of course. And to expand on that would be getting into spoiler territory, Popverse reader.
