In the upcoming animated sequel spinoff series Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord Season 1, the story that began in Star Wars: The Clone Wars will continue. Created by Dave Filoni, the show promises to have Star Wars fans everywhere talking. So when can you anticipate the release date for Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord Season 1 on Disney+?
The Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord Season 1 release date is April 6th, 2026 on Disney+. The first two episodes of the ten-episode season will debut on that date. The remaining episodes of the season will be released in pairs on a weekly basis, with the season finale arriving on May 4th, 2026 - get it?
It will have been about six years since the final episodes of The Clone Wars series were released on May 4th, 2020. Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord Season 1 tells the story of how Maul (Sam Witwer) built a criminal empire in the wake of the events of The Clone Wars. The story is set on the planet Janix during the period in which the Galactic Empire is in control of the Star Wars galaxy. In addition to Witwer as Maul, the show will also feature Gideon Adlon as Devon Izara, a former Jedi who must adapt to a post-Order 66 world.
The show will also feature Wagner Moura as Brander Lawson, a Janix police detective investigating Maul's fledgling empire. Rounding out the cast is Richard Ayoade as Lawson's partner, Two-Boots, a droid who earned his name thanks to the distinctive habit of wearing boots.
