The promise of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was that it was a direct prequel to 1977's original Star Wars film. And while it fulfilled that promise (and then some),some of us left hoping for more on the Yavin IV base seen in the finale of the first film - and the place the Empire and that Death Star was trying to destroy. And now as final work is underway on the second (and final!) season of Andor, we have something more to look forward to.

"We move in space more than ever — the amount of planets and sets you’re going to get to see," Andor star Diego Luna tells Empire. "There are some familiar and new locations."

While Luna there is teasing us by the vague mention of "familiar... locations," Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy spills the beans right after.

"I mean, we have to end up in Yavin, right?" Gilroy says. "So, we’ll tell the story of Yavin. No-one has quite dealt with Yavin the way we will be doing it."

That's enticing as a casual Star Wars fan wanting to see more of a favorite locale, but then entrancing if you're up on Star Wars lore. Why? Because that base on Yavin IV is a temple - a Sith Temple.

As laid out in Star Wars books over the years (from non-canon Legends material but also the in-canon Star Wars comic Doctor Aphra), it's been revealed that that specific temple (and others like it) was built 5000 years before Star Wars under the guidance of a Sith Lord known as Naga Sadow - with one in-story theory being it was built in a specific way to act as a communications device between the Sith Lords around the galaxy. It fell into disuse over time, with the Rebellion taking over the then-dilapidated temple to be their own base.

I'm not saying there's SIth in Andor season 2 - but maybe at the least we'll see that great Star Wars awards ceremony room, but maybe we might get some dark vibes like a smell you just can't seem to get out of the carpet.
