SpongeBob's Krabby Patty is coming to a restaurant near you... but maybe not as a burger (It's complicated)

Want to finally have one of Bikini Bottom's iconic Krabby Patties for yourself? If you live in North America, you're about to get your chance... but it might be a SpongeBob Squarepants doughnut, instead... or maybe a dumpling

If you grew up watching the adventures of someone who, shall we say, lives in a pineapple under the sea, then it’s almost guaranteed that you’ve wondered at least once what it would be like to be able to walk into your local hangout and order yourself a Krabby Patty. Very soon, that dream is about to become a reality — well, as long as you live in North America or Guam. (Yes, Guam.)

As part of the ongoing celebrations of the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob Squarepants, Nickelodeon and Paramount are launching something called the Krabby Patty Kollab, which will see a Krabby Patty-inspired offering added to the menu of over 250 restaurants in New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Las Vegas, Toronto, London, and Mexico City between October 8 and October 27, before Wendy’s gets in on the act, adding something called a Krabby Patty Kollab Burger and Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty to its menu through early November. (We told you about that last bit earlier, of course.)

You might have noticed I said, “Krabby Patty-inspired offering,” rather than an actual Krabby Patty; that’s because the collaboration — because it’s actually spelled with a “c,” thank you very much — with the restaurants, facilitated by Off The Menu and the MRG Group, allows for the restaurants to create everything from dumplings to doughnuts, ice cream, falafel, and beyond… as long as it has that Krabby Patty DNA at its core. (Figuratively, not literally, of course.)

In a statement, Nickelodeon and Paramount senior vice president of studio franchise strategy and operations Sherry Liu said, “SpongeBob SquarePants began his journey as a fry cook, flipping Krabby Patties in the pilot episode of the series 25 years ago, and the coveted patty has since remained an enduring fixture in Bikini Bottom. Though its formula remains a secret, SpongeBob SquarePants fans will now be able to enjoy imaginative interpretations of the legendary Krabby Patty through this unique collaboration.”

You can find the full list of participating restaurants right here. There’s even a video to promote the, uh, “Kollab”:

It’s the next best thing to visiting the Bikini Bottom diner for yourself — especially considering this doesn’t require a wetsuit.
