Severance's new trailer teases answers and revelations, but nothing is ever what it seems

What is the fallout of the last season's cliffhanger? What is the nature of the mysterious work done at the Lumon Corporation? Why is Adam Scott so good at looking sad?

Get ready to witness what might be one of the greatest moments on this planet… well, according to an entirely untrustworthy stranger, at least. The full trailer for the second season of Apple TV+’s Severance was unveiled at Brazil’s CCXP convention, and now you can see it for yourself.

“What you all did was one of the most painful moments in the history of this company, but the four of you have become known as the face of Severance reform,” the mysterious supervisor Mr. Milchick (Tramell Tillman) explains at one point in the trailer, much to the surprise of the so-called Innies (Adam Scott, Britt Lower, John Turturro, and Zach Cherry). Is he telling the truth? Almost certainly not — but then, that’s mostly because almost everything on this series has more than one meaning.

Of course, maybe it’s not entirely untrue, seeing as we also see someone proclaiming, “Their work will be remembered as one of the greatest moments on this planet.” Does that mean that season two might even reveal what they are actually doing when they put those numbers into the trash…? And why are there new workers in the office, anyway…? Attendees at CCXP got a little bit more insight into things; Apple screened the first five minutes of the first episode of the season exclusively in the room. The rest of us just got this new trailer...

The new trailer asks a lot of questions that we’re a little over a month away from answering. Take a look below.

Severance returns January 17.
