The long-running and beloved children’s educational series Sesame Street is heading to Netflix. The upcoming Sesame Street Season 56 will make its debut on the streamer later this fall. While the season will feature the return of familiar characters from previous seasons, there will be some format changes. So when can you count on the release date for Sesame Street Season 56 to arrive?

The Sesame Street Season 56 release date is November 10 on Netflix. The new episodes will debut the same same day on PBS stations as well as PBS KIDS digital platforms. This way, children throughout the United States will be able to enjoy the show for free. That means that kids won’t have to wait too long for new episodes of the show, as Sesame Street Season 55’s finale aired on HBO Max on September 11, 2025. Of course, there are many TV release dates vying for your attention this fall. Here’s a teaser for Sesame Street Season 56:

So what can you expect to change when Sesame Street Season 56 arrives? For one thing, episodes will now focus on a single eleven-minute storyline. Cookie Monster will also open his own Cookie Cart on Sesame Street. And the show will explore Abby’s Fair Garden, which boasts surprising magical fauna. However, you can also expect the return of beloved segments like Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck and Elmo’s World. The show will be from executive producers Sal Perez and Kay Wilson Stallings. And the new head writer will be Halcyon Person, who has been nominated for Emmy, Humanitas and NAACP Awards.
