Reacher spinoff starring Frances Neagley heading to Amazon Prime

Maria Sten will reprise the role of private investigator Frances Neagley, which she made famous during her stint on Prime's hit spy thriller Reacher

There's always something more to the story in Amazon Prime's Reacher, something that goes beyond the surface, something that adds a whole new layer of danger and adventure. And now, new layers and dangers are going even beyond the series itself, as Variety announced today that Reacher would be getting its very own spinoff. And just who will be headlining Reacher's journey into franchisedom? Why, none other than private eye and fan favorite character Frances Neagley.

Neagley, portrayed by Maria Sten, has filled the role of Robin to Jack Reacher's Batman several times over the course of the show's two seasons, so t only makes sense that she'd be the pick when the series decided to pull a Nightwing. The upcoming series's show synopsis, also posted by Variety, reads as follows:

"Using everything she’s learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley puts herself on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil."

Speaking at the Prime Video Presents: Trailblazers event this week, Sten was quick to ensure Reacher fans that the same action and adventure they've come to love will be in her new show, but with a unique spin. "It’s still Reacher," she said, "It’s still fun, splashy action and quick dialogue but it has something that’s Neagley, not Reacher. It’s the same fun tone but [the writers] make it its own."

Prime has not announced a release window (or filming dates) for the upcoming "Untitled Neagley Project," but we do expect Reacher season 3 to drop some time in early 2025. For now, you can catch Frances Neagley's previous adventures (along with pal Reacher, we suppose) streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
