Rumors have been swirling about the Fourth Wing TV series for years. Rebecca Yarros’ best-selling romantasy series helped push the genre into the mainstream and caught the attention of Amazon’s Prime Video. Now, after speculation and uncertainty for more than two years, Prime Video has finally confirmed that Fourth Wing has been green-lit and will include Michael B. Jordan among its executive producers.
The news broke earlier this week that Fourth Wing was (finally) going to get the live-action adaptation that fans have been waiting for. Prime Video began development on the series more than two years ago, not long after Entangled Publishing saw copies of Fourth Wing flying off the shelves in 2023. That first book spawned two sequels, both of which were devoured by an eager fanbase. The same year the first book came out, Amazon MGM acquired the rights to the book and began working on the series.
Despite being a publishing phenomenon, the eventual fate of a Fourth Wing TV series was in question until this week. The original showrunner left the project in 2025, only to be replaced by Locke & Key co-creator Meredith Averill in September 2025.
Michael B. Jordan is signed on to executive produce Fourth Wing for Prime Video through his Outlier Society banner. At this early stage, we don’t have any idea when the TV series will come out. Thankfully, fans still have two more books in the series on the way, which should help keep them from getting too restless in the meantime.
