We’re all ready to set sail for the Grand Line in One Piece Season 2, which is landing on Netflix March 10 2026. After the first season seemed to prove to everyone that, yes, anime adaptations don’t have to be bad, the streamer greenlit not just a second but also a third season of the adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga. Now we’ve got One Piece season 2 to look forward to in March 10 2026, and it is bringing some of the best moments from the manga to life.

What is One Piece season 2 about?

What is happening in One Piece season 2? The first season brought the bulk of the Straw Hats together under Captain Monkey D. Luffy with the goal to sail onto the Grand Line. This dangerous stretch of sea is the most dangerous and unpredictable in the world and is home to the most legendary pirates in One Piece. As Netflix itself describes it, “There, they’ll visit bizarre islands, recruit more allies, and battle formidable new foes as they search for the world’s greatest treasure.”

In One Piece season 2, the team finds their way to the Grand Line at last, and it lives up to its reputation. There are giant whales, talking reindeer, and giants locked in an unending battle, all of which take place in this season, which covers the first great arc of the One Piece manga. Luffy, Nami, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji find themselves embroiled in a fight against the Baroque Works organization, a powerful criminal group that has set its sights on conquering one of the most powerful nations in the Grand Line.

In One Piece season 2, the crew of the Going Merry will grow to include Tony Tony Chopper, a talking reindeer who serves as the adorable/terrifying doctor for the Straw Hats, and Vivi, the former member of Baroque Works who is on a mission of her own. Plus, we’ll see Nico Robin for the first time, who has one of the most beautiful and tragic backstories in the One Piece manga. This season is going to be massive and lead into the upcoming season 3, which is already in production.

Who was Luffy’s girlfriend in One Piece?

Romance isn’t a core part of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece manga, but at more than 1100 chapters and still going strong, you’d expect the main character to at least have a few romantic encounters along the way. However, one of the remarkable things about Luffy is that he remains completely unattached to anyone but the Straw Hat pirates throughout the series. While he is shown to deeply love his friends and family, he never has anything resembling a girlfriend in One Piece.

This has led to speculation from fans that Luffy is actually asexual, particularly when he is shown to be immune to Boa Hancock’s charms. Hancock, famously, can control anyone who shows even the slightest interest in her sexually and is considered the most beautiful woman in the world, a potentially deadly combination. However, she fails to affect Luffy at all in the manga, which leads to her falling for him. Luffy, for his part, shows more interest in eating and fighting than Boa Hancock.

Is One Piece season 3 confirmed?

Yep! Back in 2025, rumors were swirling that One Piece had been renewed for a third season ahead of its second season coming out. These rumors were mainly due to cast members like Mackenyu blatantly talking about coming back for another season. After nearly a year of it being the most open secret in pop culture, Netflix finally made it official in August 2025 that One Piece season 3 is coming.

We don’t have a release date yet for One Piece season 3, as we’re still waiting for One Piece season 2 to air before we get anything like a release date window, but we can expect it sometime in 2027 or 2028 at the earliest. We’re hopeful that we won’t have to wait quite as long for this new season as we did for season 2, but we’re being realistic here. It is best to manage our expectations and settle in for a long wait for more One Piece.

Is there a One Piece season 2 trailer?

There is a One Piece season 2 trailer, and it goes to great lengths to show off the weirdness of the Grand Line. Season 1 had some big, memorable moments, but nothing compares to seeing a talking reindeer and the body horror of Nico Robin’s Devil Fruit power.

All eight episodes of One Piece season 2 are coming out on March 10, 2026.

Where can I watch season 2 of One Piece?
