One thing that One Piece fans can never complain about is not having anything to watch. There are over 1100 episodes of the anime, plus multiple movies and a live-action series from Netflix – enough to fill a handy watch order – and soon we’ll have yet another One Piece anime. During One Piece Day 2025, it was confirmed that the One Piece Heroines series will be made into its own anime series and is going to be very different from the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy we all know and love.
We wouldn’t get your hopes up that One Piece Heroines will end up as the same epic show as the original anime. Instead of being based on Eiichiro Oda’s iconic manga, it is based on a pair of novels that focus on the female members of the cast. These novels are more collections of short stories than anything else, with each chapter featuring a single character in an adventure that doesn’t include any of the male cast members. There are stories that have Nami, Nico Robin, Vivi, and Perona in volume one, while volume two has stories about Boa Hancock, Tashigi, Reiju, and Uta.
Because of the more limited scope of the series, One Piece Heroines is probably going to be a single season of 12 to 13 episodes rather than a longer, ongoing series like One Piece. It will also be much more episodic; the original novels are a collection of adventures with little overlap between them.
There is currently no word on when One Piece Heroines will come out. The One Piece Day 2025 announcement feels like a first reveal, with more details coming much later down the line.
