During New York Comic Con 2025, Popverse’s Ashley V. Robinson got the chance to sit down with actor Mike Colter in the Pop Spot. The star of shows like Evil and Luke Cage, Colter has plenty of stories to share. And just one of the fascinating details he shared was revealing the fate of the bullet hole-ridden hoodies he wore as the titular character on the Netflix Marvel series Luke Cage.
The topic came up when Robinson said, “Not to ruin your chances at being asked back to play Luke Cage in some multimedia franchise, but it’s been over for a minute. Did you liberate anything from the set?” Colter quickly admitted that he had: the Michael Andrews bespoke suit that was made especially for the series. However, he didn’t take it from the suit; instead, he bought it from the person who had previously purchased it.
But while there may be no beating such a suit, Robinson remarked: “I thought you were going to say you kept the hoodie with all the bullet holes in it.” Colter admitted, “I gave all my hoodies away. Somebody wanted a hoodie, I gave ‘em a hoodie. I signed hoodies and gave hoodies away all the time. I don’t think I saved any hoodies.”
Robinson joked, “Well, someday you’ll want one, and you’ll have to buy it back.” Colter humorously agreed: “Someday, I’m going to buy it back and they’ll be charging ten times as much as [they] paid for it.”
