Fans will see more MCU Moon Knight when Oscar Isaac gets excited enough to make it happen

As it turns out, the moon does NOT haunt Moon Knight actor, Oscar Isaac

It's been four years since the Moon Knight show starring Oscar Isaac began streaming on Disney+, and Isaac has yet to reprise the role in the MCU. So what happened? Can we ever expect to see him play Marc Spector (or Jake Lockley, or Stephen Grant) ever again?

Jeremy Slater, the head writer of the Moon Knight show, addressed the character's lack of appearances since his MCU show in an interview with Comicbook. "The contract Oscar Isaac signed was very much like, we will do more stories when we find stories that he is creatively excited to tell," he explained. "They can just sort of snap their fingers and summon him back for another adventure. He’s really creatively involved in the future of that character. So I would imagine part of the challenge, and part of the joy over there, is finding: what stories does Oscar want to explore, and how does he want that character to be used? What’s something that would entice him to get back and play in that sandbox one more time?"

Listen, I'm just a humble fan of Moon Knight comics, and I appreciate everything that the Moon Knight show did to spotlight Egyptian culture, especially through May Calamawy's character, Layla. But I found it surprising that the show chose to focus on Moon Knight's alter, Steven Grant, rather than Marc Spector, the character's main persona. Moon Knight comics tend to be Marc-focused, and all of his baggage as a character stems from his experiences as Marc Spector, the son of a rabbi who ended up as a violent mercenary.

I would hope that someday, Isaac can be enticed back to another Moon Knight story (or even a Midnight Sons story) that principally features Marc Spector, without also cutting out the chance for more Egyptian representation in the MCU. That said, he just entered into a production deal with Netflix, so we might be waiting for awhile yet...
