Krysten Ritter can finally talk about her return as Jessica Jones (but there’s some things Marvel still won’t let her say)
Krysten Ritter says it’s exciting to be back as Jessica Jones for Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again

It’s been six years since the cancellation of her Netflix series, but now we can finally say that Jessica Jones is back in the MCU. After years of rumors and speculation, Marvel Studios announced that Krysten Ritter would be reprising her role as Jones for Daredevil: Born Again season two.
However, even though her return was announced back in May, the actress is still limited in what she can say. “I got the talking points and they say, ‘Please don’t reveal anything about Jessica Jones,’” Ritter says during the Marvel Television panel at New York Comic Con 2025. “So, nothing to say. But I’ll say that Jessica is back, and it’s exciting to be in the action, and she looks cooler than ever.”
Ritter was asked how long she had been keeping her mouth shut about her return, and the answer was classic Jessica. “So long ago. And I’ve been asked about it every day, and when they finally announced it, I was like, I kept looking over my shoulder. Are you sure I’m allowed to say this now? It’s a long time in the works and I’m so excited to be back.”
When Daredevil actor Charlie Cox learned that Ritter was returning, he was immediately excited. But he was also bracing himself for her playful teasing. “It’s so exciting to have Krysten back as JJ in the show, but as soon as I read that, I was like, ‘Great. There’s going to be a lot of snarky comments about Daredevil and his ears,’” Cox says.
“Oh yes, you can expect some of that,” Ritter replies. “Anytime we get a chance to improvise, I’m going to make fun of Charlie.”
Once the actors reunited on the Daredevil: Born Again set, they picked up right where they left off. “We kind of looked at each other like, ‘Can you believe this,’” Ritter says. “It was surreal but also as if no time had passed. I love Charlie so much as a person. I love being with him, and acting with him, and I always have, and I love playing these characters. And it just felt big and celebratory and larger than life.”
Daredevil: Born Again season two premieres March 4, 2026.
