Charlie Cox's Daredevil, the Venom symbiote, and a Spider-Gwen-less Gwen Stacy promised in Marvel's Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man season 2

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man returns in 2026 for season 2 from Marvel TV - and he's bringing some (amazing) friends.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is set to continue to surprise fans with some unexpected appearances when it returns for its second season — a trailer shown to fans at New York Comic Con 2025 revealed not just some very familiar black ooze, but also a full appearance by a certain blind attorney’s horn headed alter ego… oh, and an old-school love interest, as well.

In the trailer shared during the 'Up Next from Marvel Television and Marvel Animation' panel at NYCC 2025, fans got to see the animated Peter Parker take on Doctor Octopus, discover some black ooze in Oscorp that just might be Venom-related — I mean, what else could it be? — and, more importantly, be greeted not only by Daredevil (“It’s been awhile, Spider-Man,” he says, with what definitely seemed to be Charlie Cox returning to voice the animated version of his MCU character) but also… Gwen Stacy. And not in the Spider-Gwen incarnation, either — this one looks like the original John Romita Snr. Incarnation from the 1960s comics.

(Fittingly, considering the retro design of the series’ first season.)

No official release date has been announced for the second season of the show, but the trailer did specifically promise that it was coming “in 2026.” As is traditional with most footage shared by Marvel at big convention panels, this hasn’t been released online, meaning those lucky enough to be in the room got a sneak peek months ahead of the rest of the world. Who says this isn’t the era of Mighty Marvel Con-Going?

New York Comic Con 2025 continues through Sunday, October 12.
