We have answers, including release date, cast, and a trailer. Here’s everything you need to know about Invincible Season 4.

What will Invincible Season 4 be about?

The fourth season of the Prime Video adaptation of the Image Comics series is anticipated to tell the story of the Viltrumite War, in which Invincible — AKA Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun) — teams with other heroes including Battle Beast, Allen the Alien, and even his anti-hero father Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons) to face off against an invasion by the Viltrumite Empire.

Do I need to watch Invincible Seasons 1-3 before watching Season 4?

Technically, no — the new season doesn’t begin with the conclusion of a cliffhanger. But Invincible is a long-running continuous story, so skipping the earlier seasons means that you’d lack the context on what’s going on and who each character is as the new season begins, some of which is important to understanding the full scope of the Viltrumite War. Plus, you know, the earlier seasons are worth watching in and of themselves even beyond the scene-setting.

If you want to watch the Invincible series so far, but don't know where to start, don't worry: we have an Invincible series (and spin-off) watch order here

Is Invincible season 5 confirmed?

Yes, Prime Video officially confirmed rumors of a fifth season renewal back in July 2025.

Will there be 8 seasons of Invincible?

It's unknown right now how many seasons Invincible will run on Prime Video, but series creator and co-showrunner Robert Kirkman has previously said in a 2024 interview, “The way Simon and I have it mapped out, where we would kinda follow the comic and where the breaks would be, [the show would run] roughly eight seasons. Could be seven, could be ten.”

Does Invincible the TV show faithfully follow Invincible the comic book?

Yes, for the most part, but creator Robert Kirkman has already revealed that there are plans for the show to include storylines that he “never got to” in the original comic book run. If you want more information about the differences between the show and the comic book, you should look at this guide right here.

Will Todd McFarlane's Spawn show up in Invincible Season 4?

No, although the question isn't as unexpected as fans might think. Spawn actually shows up in Invincible the comic book, but it turns out a comic book cameo is very different from a TV show cameo. As Robert Kirkman explained at New York Comic Con 2025, “When you’re on Amazon Prime and you’re a show, I call Todd and I go, ‘Can Spawn appear in a TV show?’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, I’ve got to call Jason Blum. I’ve got to do the other thing. I’ve got to go to this person.’ And then I’m like, ‘It’s too much trouble.’ And then we don’t do it.”

Is The Immortal actually immortal in Invincible?

Yes, the Immortal (voiced by Ross Marquand in the series) is functionally immortal, meaning that he doesn’t age and has regenerative abilities that appear to mean that he can’t get sick. However, that doesn’t mean that he couldn’t be killed in other ways, via intense physical trauma such as decapitation. Which, on Invincible, is never off the table as a narrative choice.

Is there a trailer for Invincible Season 4?

Yes, Prime Video released the official trailer for the fourth season in January 2026, showcasing the scope of the intergalactic Viltrumite War storyline — and teasing a new role for Omni-Man as a result. Want to watch for yourself? Look below.

What is the Invincible Season 4 episode schedule?
