Mads Mikkelsen & Hugh Dancy's Hannibal reunion moment at ECCC has become a meme, and now a comic
Hannibal's Mads Mikkelsen has a unique handshake for his co-star Hugh Dancy.

Popverse's top stories of the day
- Superman celebrates kindness and love in his DCU reboot, says writer/director James Gunn during CinemaCon 2025 presentation
- MEMBERS ONLY: Raina Telgemeier & Scott McCloud's The Cartoonist Club is for all the indoor kids (past and present)
- Spider-Man vs. Venom on the big screen? "We got close" to a Tom Holland/Tom Hardy movie, says Hardy
Actors Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy are known for their work together in NBC's serial killer drama Hannibal, so when the two reunited earlier this month on-stage at Seattle's Emerald City Comic Con they did what any two friends/co-workers/fictional killers would do - a handshake, but with a hand shaking the other's neck.
As you can see above from the photograph from one of our most-excellent team Oguz 'Ozzie' Uygur, the Hannibal reunion panel at ECCC 2025 (which you can watch right now over here) kicked off with Mikkelsen playfully greeting Dancy by wringing his neck. (Note: no Hugh Dancys were harmed in the making of this panel.)
While the panel itself was our busiest livestream of all of ECCC 2025, this particular moment caught on like wildfire on the internet with a fan picture, followed by us posting the above picture on social media... and now it's reached the pinnacle of meme-able moments by becoming a comic.
