What would Critical Role's Caleb Widogast do with one wish? Fix Scanlan Shorthalt's weird penis, apparently
Don't take it from us - Caleb's real-life avatar Liam O'Brien said as much in a recent Critical Role chat

Whatever problem you're facing, you can always count on members of your adventuring partner to help you out. In fact, if you're a cast member of Critical Role, you can even count on members of a different adventuring party to come in clutch just when you need them - even if your need is... well, a very personal one. Take, for example, The Mighty Nein's Caleb Widogast, AKA Liam O'Brien, who recently declared his willingness to assist in an issue belonging to The Legend of Vox Machina's Scanlan Shorthalt.
That is, his weird genitalia.
The anatomical discussion happened during a Q&A the Critical Role cast did with ScreenRant Studio, which included not just O'Brien, but Travis Willingham, Taliesin Jaffe, Marisha Ray, Sam Riegel, Ashley Johnson, and Matt Mercer. At one point in the chat, O'Brien was given the question - if he had one wish to resolve any trauma for his character or another, what would it be?
"It is true that I have been through a lot myself," began O'Brien, in character as Caleb (and with something of an understatement, I'll add), "But there's always someone who has suffered more. So, I think that I would cross through time and space to meet Scanland Shorthalt and decube his junk. I would give him a working phallus."
For context - in case you somehow aren't already familiar with the most intimate of details for all your favorite Exandrians - it was established in Critical Role Campaign 1 that Sam Riegel's gnomish bard possesses a member that is one inch long and one inch wide, leading to the cast to refer to his li'l Scanman as a 'cube.' And while I'm not sure that that fits the exact mathematical definition (doesn't a cube require corners?), the point is that if The Mighty Nein's human wizard had his druthers, it would be a much more normal feature.
"Caleb," concluded O'Brien, "As many people know, including Essek, he's a giver. [...] Cube no more."
With two animated series on Prime Video, Campaign 4 in full swing, and so much more Exandrian lore to come, Critical Role is showing no signs of slowing down. That's why the adventuring party at Popverse are here to bring you everything we can from those nerdy-ass voice actors & Bo., including:
- Critical Role release schedule
- Critical Role's Campaign 4 characters ranked
- How to watch Critical Role in order
- Ways for you to relive the Critical Role panel from ECCC '26
- Taliesin Jaffe on playing Mollymauk Tealeaf for Campaign 2 vs. playing him for Prime Video
- Matt Mercer's homebrew warrior class (created originally for Vin Diesel)
...and much, much more. Roll initiative, player. Magic awaits.
