From Season 4 is nearly upon us, bringing all of its nightmares back into our lives once more. (After all, as shows like Twin Peaks, Wayward Pines, and From evidence, small town America is scary.) Over the course of the previous seasons, From has been building out its own mythology that has fans guessing at every turn. So, will From Season 4 finally provide answers to those questions? We have the information that will help.

What is From Season 4 about?

From season 4 will explore the identity of the Man in Yellow, as well as his motivations for being in town. Why wear a color that so easily shows stains, that's my personal question for him. The upcoming season is also poised to address whether Jade and Tabitha's "revelation" from season 3 will unlock the secret for how they can all go home. And finally, will Boyd be able to hold onto both his sanity and his physical health this season? Lots of questions to be answered!

How many seasons will there be of the show From?

It's not currently known how many seasons the show From will be. It's worth noting that the show was renewed for a fourth season in November 2024, shortly before the final episode of season 3 dropped. And before that, the show was renewed for its third season a few days after the final episode of season 2 was released. So if you're hoping that From gets a fifth outing, keep an eye on the news once season 4 of From starts winding down. May the odds ever be in your favor.

Why can't they leave the town in From?

We don't know! There are several theories as to why the folks in From can't leave the town, though. Remember, when people try to leave, they end up looping back into town. It's kind of like in the movie Coraline. It's also worth noting that there are monsters hiding in the spooky forest, and I don't know about you, but I don't want to bring that kind of drama into my life.

There's also the added layers of apathy and acceptance going on in the town. Since so many people tried to escape in the beginning, only to discover the reality loop of the town, they've essentially given up on actively trying to escape. The newcomers, however, still haven't accepted their circumstances, though.

Who is the monster in From?

We don't know what exactly the monsters in From are, but like with other things in the show, fans have lots of theories. What we do know about the monsters is that they only come out at night, and they take the form of humans wearing 1950s garb. It's only once they start doing monster things - hunting down the townsfolk - that their true inhuman nature is revealed.

Theories abound about who and/or what the monsters actually are in From, but I'll focus on the one that jumps out to me most: that they're fairies from Scottish and Irish folklore. In Irish folklore, fairies are responsible for stealing children and replacing them with changelings, or creatures that look identical to humans but are "off" in some way. Fairies are always bad news.

What did Boyd get infected with?

Boyd got infected with worms that are seemingly tied to the Music Box Monster on the show, thanks to being exposed to Martin's blood. However, he was able to free himself of the infection by giving it to the Smiley Creature.

Is there a From Season 4 trailer?

Yes, there is, though it's more of an atmospheric teaser featuring a collection of shots of the characters on the show. It does feature a creepy clip of the Man in Yellow saying, "What happens next is my favorite part," before his face curls into a menacing smile. Take a look at it below.
